I. Premium Clinical Membership

Premium members are required to maintain their professional RN and APN license, and to maintain certification as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses, malpractice insurance and a minimum of 2500 hours of PMHNP practice post certification.
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for Clinical Membership in the Society, an applicant is required to:

and an Advanced Practice Nurse license in NJ;
checkMaintain certification as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) of AANPBC

The Nurse Practitioner shall be responsible for maintaining and keeping current licenses, (APN, DEA, CDS and all certifications) as well as maintaining professional liability insurance with a minimum amount of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $6,000,000 in the aggregate.

II. Clinical Membership

III. Student/Associate Membership

Associate Membership is available for registered nurse graduate students in psychiatric nursing and those awaiting certification by ANCC. Two year maximum.
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for Student/Associate Membership in the Society, an applicant is required
to:
Have enrolled or graduated from an accredited Master’s Degree Program in Psychiatric-Mental Health
Nursing and be working toward ANCC and State Board of Nursing Certification as a Psychiatric Advance
Practice Nurse and documentation of graduation for review by the Society’s Membership Committee;
checkBe enrolled in an accredited Master’s Degree
Program in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing and submit a letter of enrollment from the Program Director
for review by the Society’s Membership Committee.

IV. Lifetime Membership

Lifetime Membership is available to clinical members who have reached 65 and older and are fully retired or is permanently disabled from their job as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse.
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for Lifetime Membership in the Society, an applicant is required to:
checkBe a Clinical Member who is completely retired
and has reached the age of 65 or who is permanently disabled from their career as an advanced practice
psychiatric nurse.
checkThis person must have been an active Clinical Member in good standing of SPAPN for at least 5 years before, paying dues at the Clinical Member level. Lifetime members pay dues at one-quarter the rate of Clinical Members and are entitled to all the benefits of Clinical Membership.
